A special day indeed. A new church welcomes the War Family.  After dismal acceptance at other previous community churches, a one-eyed, 3-legged, ‘special needs’ cat who attaches himself to a non-verbal, Downs Syndrome and Autistic Spectrum young man, arrive as the newest, very unusual new members AND just in time for the freshly laid out, yummy donuts that have become ready for sampling (including crumbs for Milo).

The usual stares initially occur, but over time people learn that the reason the little boy in the red suspenders does not talk or carry on a conversation is because he cannot speak. But his contagious smile gets them every time.  Through the months this family and others become an integral part of each other’s lives and through fun times and sad times, they are always there.

Soon no one notices the ‘differences’.
